Religious Arguments
You know, I really think that all Religions have it right. I mean, the Christian’s look down on the Jews because they don’t believe that Christ hasn’t come yet. But, the Christian’s don’t follow the rules about eating Kosher foods like the Jews do. Supposedly “Christians follow the Bible completely” well, if they did, wouldn’t they follow God’s orders about what you can and can’t eat?
I am by no means stating that I don’t believe in God. I guess what I’m saying is, I don’t believe in organized religion. I mean, I don’t believe there is “one church” that follows the Bible completely. I believe all Christian Religions and some non-christian religions take bits and pieces of the Bible and form it to fit their live styles.
Protestant women don’t wear pants, they leave their hair long, that is in the Bible, yet, not all religions do that.
It just doesn’t make sense. We sit here and argue about “which Religion is best” but isn’t it just about glorifying God and living the way He wants us to live? Does it really matter what religion a person is?
I wonder what God things about this, His word has been construed in so many different ways. The Bible has been translated so many times that it may not be an accurate account of what He really wants us to know. Do I think that things in the Bible are false? No, not really, but here’s my take on it…
Have you ever played the “telephone game”? You start with one person who says a sentence “My favorite animal is a dog”. That person whispers the sentence to the next person, and it continues until the last person repeats it out loud, by the time it gets to the last person the sentence is misconstrued. It can be something like “I saw your friend dancing in the rain”. IT IS NEVER the same sentence.
Imagine how many times the Bible has been translated, and considering it was written in Hebrew, and how many languages it is written into. No one languages translates directly into another, so how ever you look at it, things had to be modified to fit that language…..it is very possible many things got lost in translation.
Then, there is the aspect of the people who read the Bible, and their thought process, everyone takes things differently. I do NOT think that the Bible is a bad thing, I believe it is God’s word, maybe not exactly as he intended it, but it is His word.
I also believe that it doesn’t matter WHAT denomination you are, as long as you know God and live a holy life. I don’t think it matters if you go to church or not because I don’t feel God judges you on that.
One thing that really upsets me is “Christians” judging others based on church going or their individual beliefs. Who are we, as humans, to judge one another?
I believe in God. I believe he sent Jesus to die on the cross for ME. I believe in my Heavenly Father whole-heartily and I love Him, regardless of my religious affiliation.
